Business Development Manager - USA

About The Position

XTEND is a dynamic and rapidly growing company dedicated to innovation and excellence.      we are looking for a Business Development leader to support XTEND’s growth and success in the defense market. 

  • Lead XTEND’s BD activity in the US defense market – approaching military and HLS agencies and users. 
  • Tightly collaborate with Sales, Technical Operations, Programs managers and HQ. 
  • Build, maintain and capitalize a strong pipeline of defense opportunities. 
  • Drive new business opportunities at the strategic and tactical level 
  • Lead these opportunities and close profitable deals 
  • Drive expansion and repeat business within our expanding list of government customers. 
  • Work closely with headquarters management team to support execution of an aggressive capture plan 
  •  Enable future sales within the U.S. DoD markets by building a vibrant network of advocates from the user community and the business ecosystem. 
  • Build strong industry partnerships to further drive XTEND's business positioning and footprint (including Primes and Subcontractors) 
  • Scan, source, execute and win government solicitations such as RFIs, RFPs, BAAs, and others 
  • Report directly to XTEND’s US General Manager 

Requirements

  • Experienced Business Development professional, with a minimum of 15 years in BD roles, preferably with sales or program management experience 
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the defense industry 
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Must. MBA or equivalent - Advantage 
  • Proven track record of overachieving quotas or equivalent measure metrics 
  • Proven track record of successful and systematic government solicitations submissions. 
  • Experienced in working in hardware and product companies 
  • Experienced in working with US Army or US Marine Corps, with a valid network in place. 
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed personal and team goals & objectives 
  • Ability to work independently, plan workload, and deliver on commitments 
  • A team player who is also independent, with self-motivation and the ability to motivate others 
  • Experience in customer service, and operational or logistical workflows experience in managing a budget (P&L) on a business unit level 
  • Strong commercial sensitivity, action, logical thinking 
  • Veteran – Advantage 
  • Willing to travel (around 50%) 
  • Located in Washington DC
